How to Care for Handmade Ceramics
Handmade ceramics from Kulak Ceramic are made to be used every day. With a few simple habits, your bowls, cups, and plates will stay in great shape for years.
Cleaning
All our tableware is dishwasher-safe. For pieces with delicate glaze or gold detail, hand washing in warm soapy water is gentler. Avoid sudden temperature changes—don’t put a hot piece straight into cold water or the fridge.
Storage
Stack plates and bowls with a soft cloth or felt between them to prevent scratching. Store mugs and cups where they won’t knock against hard surfaces. Keep ceramics away from direct, intense heat (e.g. stovetop or broiler) unless they’re marked as oven-safe.
Small chips or cracks
Minor wear is normal with use. If a piece chips, avoid using it for food until you’ve checked that no sharp edges touch your mouth. Small surface cracks in the glaze don’t usually affect safety but can be more prone to staining.
